The 2007 Atlanta Falcons had a year to forget and finished up with a 4-12 record. The Falcons were expecting Michael Vick to be the quarterback in 2007, once it became clear he would not be with team the entire season seem to go straight down the drain. The quarterback situation will be in good shap
e this year with rookie Matt Ryan taking over the position. I'm sure he'll struggle at times like most rookies but I'm also confident he will become a true franchise quarterback.

The Falcons are in great shape at running back with Michael Turner and Jerious Norwood. Turner is the every down running back and should easily rush for over 1,000 yards. Norwood is a terrific change of pace back capable of scoring every time he touches the ball.

The wide receivers are above average with Roddy White, Laurent Robinson, and Harry Douglas. All 3 are game breakers and should become great targets for Matt Ryan. The Falcons have a new tight end with Ben Hartsock coming over from Tennessee. He is an excellent blocker.

The starting offensive line for the Falcons feature: Sam Baker, Kynan Forney, Todd McClure, Quinn Ojinnaka, and Justin Blaylock. This group has been the weak link of the team for a few years. Baker is a first round pick from this year, and should hold his own at left tackle protecting the quarterbacks blind side. The whole offense has a chance to grow together as Matt Ryan is growing into the position.

The defense is very poor. Leading the very poor defense is the defensive line. The starters there are: Jamaal Anderson, Jonathan Babineaux, Rashad Moore, and John Abraham. Hopefully Anderson can step up his game this year and become more productive.

The linebackers of the Falcons are way above average: Michael Boley, Curtis Lofton, and Keith Brooking. All three are excellent athletes. Boley should be in the Pro Bowl this year.

Another woefully weak unit is the secondary of the Falcons. The starting corners are: Chris Houston and Von Hutchins. Houston has the potential to be good, Hutchins would be a backup on most other teams. At safety the Texans have Lawyer Malloy and Erik Coleman. Neither of them should be starting.
