Who Has the Better Burrito?

It’s Saturday afternoon, and you’re in the mood for some quick Mexican food. Taco Bell’s not your thing, especially with the green onion scare. What will you do? Ignore the craving? No, don’t do that- grab a burrito!

So, now that you’ve figured out what to eat, you need to figure out where to eat. There are two chains that are battling it out for your burrito bucks- the well known Chipotle and the up and comer, Moe’s Southwest Grill.

How do you choose? Well, it depends on what you are looking for. Both restaurants have very similar offerings. At Moe’s and Chipotle you can get burritos, tacos, and salads. However, at Moe’s you can also order nachos, quesadillas and fajitas. The ordering system is similar at both, you order in line at the “burrito counter.” You proceed down the counter letting your servers know what you would like on your burrito. Chipotle has a wider selection of protein- chicken, pork, steak or shredded beef compared to Moe’s selection of chicken, steak, ground beef or tofu. After picking your protein, you are given a choice of beans (either black or pinto at both eateries), and continue on down the line.

However, at Chipotle, the line is pretty short from there. They offer a choice of 4 salsas, ranging from a mild pico de gallo to a hot tomatillo-red red chili. The medium corn salsa is quite tasty, and the servers are ok with doing whatever combination of salsas you’d like. After the salsas, you can add sour cream, cheese, guacamole (for an additional fee) and lettuce (if you are able to let your server know in time that you want it).

Chipotle sucks because it is based in Denver. That also means that Qdoba sucks as well. Denver is the worst city in the U.S., smells like dog food and has a perpetual brown cloud over it. Moe's is only missing a spicy beef similar to the barbacoa at Chipotle.

Chipotle is the bomb..... I went to Moes today, and it was horrible, the "salsa" was actually Pico De Gallo, they have no real salsa. the chips were stale. the meat was dry, FOOD WAS THROWN TOGETHER. the workers were rude. i could've gotten better food at taco bell. Chipotle is brighter cleaner, workers are friendly, smiling, the cilantro lime rice is to die for, all ingredients are fresh, tasty, and they actually have pico, AND 3 different salsas. chipotle has my vote HANDS DOWN!!!

This is the most absurd thing i have ever read! i ate at moes yesterday for the first time ever.... IT SUCKED my rice was undercooked and the steak was dry.... Chipotle is better BY FAR, the burrito is bigger and cheaper, you can get quesidilla's at chiptole to, and it does come down to taste ALWAYS which Chipotle wins EVERYTIME..... i just could never choose a Moe's buritto over a Chipotle one... ever

Ok, this battle is extremely close. Ive been the both (Chipotle more). And they are very different. Yea, both have burritos, alcohol, and such. But If I lay out the pros and cons it looks like this. Moes Pros: Short Lines, large burrito, wide selection, friendly service, nicer seating, alcohol, free chips, promotions. Moes Cons: Sub par meat, no hot salsa, blander taste, no corn Chipotle Pros: Large Burrito, Great meat, Hot salsa, alcohol, Nice atmosphere, Packed burritos, amazing taste Chipotle Cons: Small selection, Bad seating, LONG LINES When you add it all up they are both great places, and I'd take em both over taco bell. But really it comes down to which is more important for you, taste or "the big picture". Dont get me wrong MOES taste very good but Chipotle wins in that area I think. Chipotle: Atmosphere Rating- 8 Burrito Rating- 9.5 Price Rating- 4 Overall Rating- 8 Moes: Atmosphere Rating- 9.5 Burrito Rating- 8 Price Rating- 5 Overa
