Movie-Therapy: Movies for Women to Watch After a Break-Up

Breaks-ups are hard, no matter if you are the person being dumped or the person doing the dumping. But the pain of a break-up doesn't last forever, and new and better things are just around the corner. Sometimes it helps to throw yourself into something distracting, such as a new hobby or
 a class. Pick up a new book that you've been wanting to read, but never had the time. Or maybe watch one of these fantastic movies, all of which will make you laugh and cry, and they'll also give you hope in the happily ever after we all deserve.

1. Sense and Sensibility- Emma Thompson's interpretation of this Jane Austen classic is a beautiful film, full of drama and also comedy. Sense and Sensibility shows that love often comes in surprising forms and at unexpected times.

2. Groundhog Day- Having to relive the same day over and over again, Bill Murray comes to realize that love and friendship are not easy, and that he has to work at keeping up relationships every single day.

3. High Fidelity- When John Cusack's character is dumped at the beginning of the film, he decides to contact the five women who have hurt him the most during his lifetime. He learns a lot about himself and his own not-perfect behaviors, and he does everything he can to win back the love of his life.

4. Notting Hill- Julia Roberts plays a famous actress and Hugh Grant is the loveable bookstore owner she falls in love with, but sometimes things are not that easy. This is a fun love story told from the male perspective.

5. Swingers- Here is another great new movie classic about break-ups and friendship told from the male perspective. If you ever thought that men don't hurt after being dumped, this movie will really enlighten you.

6. Bridget Jones's Diary- Oh, Bridget Jones, how we love you, even with all your faults! This is a great movie to watch when you're feeling a little blue and need some cheering up. Bridget is far from perfect and that is what makes this film so enjoyable.

7. Kill Bill Volumes 1 and 2- These two films can be summed up in just one word: revenge. Let Uma Thurman live out all those angry feelings you have; you are guaranteed to feel so much better at the end of these films.
