Republican National Convention Schedule Goes Topsy-Turvy

RNC Schedule Getting Back on Track?

The Republican National Convention continues on schedule after it appeared as though Hurricane Gustav would have rained out the RNC schedule of events. Whereas previously President George W. Bush was to make a personal appearance at the GOP Convention, there are now some changes made.

Monday GOP Convention Schedule Confusion

Originally the GOP Convention website posted a schedule that featured the crowned heads of the party, namely President and Mrs. Bush, Vice President Cheney, California's Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Joe Lieberman.Instead of following the planned setup, Hurricane Gustav reordered the speaking schedule and those in attendance heard Robert Duncan, Laura Bush, Charlie Crist, Haley Barbour, Rick Perry, Bob Riley, and Cindy McCain.

Tuesday Republican National Convention Schedule

President George W. Bush will address the delegates at the Republican National Convention via satellite, whereas First Lady Laura Bush will again speak in person. Senator Joe Lieberman will eat his words - he once mentioned that in order to go forward you put a car in "D" for drive, whereas backwards it called for "R" as in reverse or republican - and also speak to the assembled delegates.

Other speakers are Fred Thompson, John Boehner, Norm Coleman, Michele Bachmann, Robert Duncan, and Jo Ann Davidson.

Wednesday and Thursday RNC Convention Schedule To Be Determined

In a previous article I stated that on the menu for Wednesday's RNC schedule were Cindy McCain, the vice presidential nominee whom we now know as Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, and Meg Whitman. Yet since today's schedule shows that neither Rudy Giuliani nor Arnold "Governator" Schwarzenegger, or Mike Huckabee are featured, speculations run high whether they might address the delegates on Wednesday or Thursday.

Looks like the convention was a pretty big success despite Gustav!

Country first, convention second. That is what the repubs are doing... Gustav took precedence and now things are little out of whack. I'd rather see my Prez taking care of business down south than in a suit at a convention anyway.
