1 to 1½ lbs. round steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 large onion, diced or thinly sliced
¼ cup diced green pepper
1 small can mushrooms or fresh ones, sliced
3 TBSP olive oil
¼ tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. salt
3 TBSP flour
Pepper to taste
2 TBSP vinegar
2 TBSP sugar
1 large diced tomato
Water as needed

Brown steak in oil, with peppers, onions and mushrooms and cook for about 5 minutes. Stir in 3 TBSP flour until mixed well. Add tomatoes, sugar, vinegar, celery seed, 1/2 cup water, salt and pepper. Simmer for 15 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened to your liking. If too thick, add some water a quarter of a cup at a time, to desired consistency. Serve over rice or noodles for a great main dish.
