The Five Best Singles of 2006

The Killers - "Bones"

It seems as though the Killers intend to release each album's strongest track as its second single. If "Bones" were to receive the radio play it deserves, Killers fans world-wide would let out a collective, "Mr. Bright-who?" Yeah, it's that good.

The Raconteurs - "Steady as She Goes"

While not the band's best song, "Steady as She Goes" is a perfect first single. With great hooks that caught in the minds of many this summer, the song has the power to stay in your head for days and not drive you absolutely insane. Now if only the Black Eyed Peas could say the same

Eagles of Death Metal - "I Want You So Hard (Boy's Bad News)"

In a world of pretentious "rock" groups who want to hook you, your mother and your old Auntie Sue as fans, it's good to know that EoDM aren't afraid to admit they want what every other band wants: (to quote "The Office") Some wild, unabashed monkey sex.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! - "In This Home on Ice"

Pinpointing the reason for this song's greatness is near-impossible. Brilliant lyrics and gorgeous, mellow guitars come to mind, but are only a piece of a larger masterpiece.

OK GO - "Here It Goes Again"

An incredibly infectious song with a brilliant music video, "Here It Goes Again"
became an instant Internet phenomenon quickly after its release, and rightly so.
