Need a getaway place? If anyone does, then he/she can travel south of the border to a place called Cuernavaca.

Cuernavaca is the state capital of Morelos, Mexico. It is approximately forty-five minutes from Mexico City and an hour and thirty minutes from the International Airport from the Mexico-Acapulco expressway. This city is known as "The City of Eternal Springs" because of its mild climate with a yearly average of sixty-eight degrees Fahrenheit.

This beautiful location has many tourist destinations from a geographic point of view. There is the pyramid of Teotihuacan, which was the ancient Toltec city, the city of Puebla, and the pyramids of Xochicaico. If looking at ruins is not in the traveling plan, there is Acapulco, which is less than three hours from Cuernavaca.

In addition to being a tourist mecca, it is also an international learning center for the language, culture, and history. There are many high-quality Spanish schools that are committed to the high academic standards and teaching ethic code. The students will also learn about art and culture from Mexico and the rest of Latin America.

This resort has been the comfort zone for Mexicans and foreigners. It has everything that many tourists are seeking, such as tennis courts, spas, bathing resorts, hotels, and restaurants. It also offers water-skiing, fishing, and mountain climbing.

If tourists want to learn more about Mexican culture and history, then here are a couple of interesting points of interests:

Palace of Cortes or Cuauhnahuac Regional Museum: This was built in 1533 over a "Teocalli or Aztec Temple." It was the summer home of Hernan Cortes, who was a conqueror. In addition to being this conqueror's summer home, it is also the home of Diego Rivera's 1929 painted murals. It is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 to 5:00 PM.

Ethno-botanic Garden and Traditional Medicine Museum: This place was also referred to as "Casa del Olindo" or "Casa de la India Bonita." The gardens and orchards showcase an excellent variety of medicinal plants. The museum is open Monday through Sunday and the hours are from 9:00 to 5:00 PM.
