"I am honored to be considered for the nomination for vice president of the United States."-Sarah Palin, RNC 2008

Sarah Palin delivered her speech at the Republican National Convention and hit on all key points. She spoke about challenging the establishment. The beauty of Sarah Palin is she not only talked about it, she brought with her a record of accomplishments that proved her successes. Platitudes not necessary.

"A small town mayor is sort of like a community organizer except you have actual responsibilities"- Sarah Palin, RNC 2008

Man, she didn't even have to play her governor card. Folks will challenge her on experience, but Sarah Palin brings to the table executive experience, legislative experience, and more substance than the TOP of the democratic ticket.

"Facts are stubborn things"-John Adams

A stark difference between Palin's acceptance speech and Biden's speech is that Palin was able to reflect on John McCain's record of accomplishments with proof and conviction. Biden spoke of hope and change. When the top of Biden's ticket was called on to lead and make a "yes" or "no" decision, he answered "present." This nation needs a leader not a dancer that is good with a microphone.

Sarah Palin informed the audience that her son will be deployed to the battlefield on September 11, 2008. McCain has a son that served in Iraq as a Marine. McCain has another son in the Naval Academy and upon graduation will be scheduled for deployment to the battlefield. The McCain-Palin ticket understands the importance of victory over defeat. Pandering not necessary.

Governor Palin not only defeated the establishment and incumbents of her own party she actually did something when entering office. She has a record of change and realistic hope. When the old Republican guard acquired a flashy jet, Sarah Palin put it on eBay. Sarah Palin has a record of attacking wasteful spending. Empty rhetoric not necessary.

Tony--I enjoyed your article. The only thing that would've made it more useful to me was some references and sources. When I come across a statement I question, I like to be able to read where the author gets his/her facts. Anyway, it was put together well and mostly very positive.

Sarah Palin and Guiliani are hacks. Palin is the worst republican bimbo since ann Coulter

I have to laugh at the misinformation and selective facts that some on this board state. Palin DID NOT attempt to ban books. Remember, if someone writes that an ass is a dog, it doesn't make it so...HELLO! Palin isn't running for the top job, yet has more experience than Obama at the executive level. Who forgot to mention HIS experience! That's not a good arguement point for democrats. Sarah Palin probably shouldn't be introducing legislation to the congress as VP and if you want corruption, check out Obama's history.

Is it possible that someone from middle America that truly inhales the sense of the American family can really assume a position of power in Washington? One can hope and more importantly VOTE.

Impressed by your words once again...thanks Tony, Cyn

Carol you are correct about Joe Biden's experience and he certainly does have more experience than Sarah Palin. Thank you for including your experience.. It now appears that you, Joe Biden, and Sarah Palin are more qualified to lead the nation than Barack Obama..it doesn't take much to out perform the rookie senator from Chicago. Palin's ethical problems are yet to be determined she is currently in the midst of a trooper-gate investigation. Palin does posses an impressive record of combating corruption, which has been vetted. While the jury is still out on Palin's investigation, Joe Biden's ethical problems forced him to drop out of the race for president the first time and his lack of popularity and vision forced him to quit this round. Barack Obama the TOP of the ticket has far more ethical problems than Biden & Palin combined (AND he is the rookie) I can continue and I hope you get my drift....

Jblems and trouble telling the truth. I could go on but... you get the drift.

Joe Biden knows how to broker actual legislation through the US Congress, something Palin would fail miserably at with her uncooperative attitude. Joe Biden served on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has dealt with foreign affairs and has authored 7 books on the subject. Palin? Zero experience and she is looking to Democrat/Independent Lieberman to teach her while she campaigns. Hey, I have traveled abroad and met with foreign gov't officials on behalf of the US gov't so I guess I am more qualified in foreign affairs than Palin and should be VP. Joe Biden authored and shepherded through national legislation to deal with domestic violence against women. Palin thinks women who are raped should be forced to carry resulting pregnancies to term, in effect forcing her religious beliefs on others. Palin thinks the Iraq War is a mission from God and seems to have missed the news about separation of church and state in this country. Palin seems to also have some serious ethics prob

she delivered a good speech, however- both sides scare me right now. she apparently tried to ban books (google palin and books) and she also apparently does not like the teaching of evolution... good reporting, tony. i'm still not 100 percent convinced either side is going to do a great job.

Excellent points, Tony. I think she'll be okay!

Excellent job on this! I enjoyed the addition of the quotes...esp. John Adams' quote on facts. So true!

Wonderful job Tonny.

Tony, I'm one of those Americans who WAS bored to tears by the election until Sarah hit the screen. I haven't been this excited about a candidate since Ronald Reagan!! Sarah certainly has energized the Republicans, not only with her style, but they have raised several million dollars since she gave her first speech. --- I find it interesting that not only Sarah, but also Cindy McCain do things most pampered American women wouldn't dream of doing! Imagine dressing a moose or building a race car! Naw, that would cut into our shopping fests. ha!

Great piece~i think she did an excellent job on her speech. She certainly is a polished and engaging speaker. I am still undecided, however.

I'm still trying to get up to speed on her and many others in both parties, from local to national levels, so I appreciate this one.
