"Sexual Harassment" - is it Worth It?

From early ages, women are exploited at every stage and at every place. Times changed, trends changed, customs and beliefs changed, but the thing that has not changed are the atrocities faced by women in every sphere of life.

Today we now then listen and read "a minor girl is raped", "a senior citizen being raped". What is it? Is it worth it? Have our country forgot the word humanity? Has everyone forgotten how to respect girl/women? Have we
forgotten everything other than sexual pleasure?

A majority of working women experience sexual harassment, whether she is working in a multinational company or in a bank or serving for her nation. In every sphere of life a women has to face everything. Her life starts from criticisms and end with criticisms. In spite of all this very few women speak up.

Some victims are too traumatized to report an incident or embarrassed to tell their colleagues fearing that they will be blamed and ridiculed. Imagine the mental state of a victim who had such a dreadful experience in her life. She remains neither in the state to tell about it to anyone nor can she make any formal complaint to anyone. Victims sometimes feel that this is a male dominated society and if they dared to speak they will be thwarted by everyone.

If some victims manage to speak up, the after effects of her speaking up had been very dreadful. She loses her job and is being secluded from the society as if she had done something wrong. All this undermines self-confidence of the victim.

A woman does everything to keep her husband, her family, her relatives and her boss satisfied. She is the one who makes a perfect balance between home and work. In spite of all this she is getting in return "harassment"? Does anyone can tell me that am this she deserves?

When women speak up, it will at least make everyone aware that women are not weak and not only a subject matter for entertainment and sexual pleasure. If one woman gathers the courage to face the world others will surely join hands to save her and other women.

So many crimes go unpunished because the victims never speak up. Good points.

An atrocity which reaches western media once in a while, is the throwing of acid into a woman's face. As I gather, this happens in a country like Bangladesh. Rape is not about sexual satisfaction. It's about power. And it's being done by men who are frustrated by a feeling of being powerless. It may seem strange to you, but many men get infuriated by rape. It's like an even worse crime than murder. At least I think many men feel that way.
