Yoga has now become the worldwide art of enhancing the mental as well as physical state of the human being. And that is called "Bikram Yoga". This type of yoga is very hot and physically challenging, as it involves some amazing aerobic exercises. But do you know why this yoga is known as "Bikram Yoga"? And how it was originated? If we go into the history, then you will find out that Bikram yoga was first originated by Mr. Bikram Choudhary who was born in Kolkata, India in 1946. At the very tender age of four, he became the disciple Swami Bishnu Ghosh, brother of Swami Paramhamsa Yogananda. He became really skillful at the art of Hatha Yoga method which involves great amount of self control.
Later on after mastering the many types of yoga he started his own yoga training classes under the guidance of his mentor Bishnu Ghosh. And after some years he developed his own yoga system known as Bikram yoga today. Bikram yoga is very famous for giving your body new life by providing greater amount of inner physical and mental strength and muscles flexibility. This yoga constitutes mainly 26 asanas or yoga postures and two deep breathing exercises.
In this type of yoga, you perform various aerobic exercises in a room under very hot temperature which is almost above 100 degrees. At this high temperature your body starts to sweat rapidly and your body muscles gets relaxed and stretching exercises becomes easier. There are almost 26 postures in which you can perform Bikram yoga. It includes full ninety minutes of exercises in which you performs various postures twice. It contains many postures like backward bending, forward bending, body twists and standing postures.
