For most when they think of a trip to New York City, they think of Broadway and the delightful shows which await them. Broadway for many is the essence of New York. Broadway offers entertainment for all who seek to attend a show.

One of the only problems you may see when it comes to Broadway is an issue of time. There are so many excellent shows and for many there is not enough time to see them. This is not only true of vacationers, but who live in the city. This is one reason why New York has been labeled the city, which never sleeps.

When thinking of the many shows you and your family want to see, remember that not all shows are available at the same time. It is best to check to see when your desired shows will be playing before you make the trip.

Everyone knows there are musicals on Broadway and this is a favorite of many. A few musicals to Broadway are Chicago The Musical, Forbidden Broadway, Jersey Boys, Naked Boys Singing (really naked), Phantom Of Opera, Rent, Wicked and Mama Mia.

If you are like me and absolutely love comedies, you will love the comedies on Broadway. On Broadway, one can let their hair down and have a great time. This is true for the Theater of today also. Some of the comedies you may find on Broadway are as follows, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, Dog Sees God, Confessions Of A Teenage Blockhead, and Spamalot. Spamalot, is a raising star with rave reviews by the critics as well as a good audience review.

Many think of "happy go lucky" type shows on Broadway, but Broadway also offers a deep dramatic flare to its line up. Some of these musicals contain reflective messages about life, such as love, marriage, and death. Some of these shows are, Rent-A Very, La Boheme meets modern life and is considered one of the best Broadway musicals. Le Miserables is another drama. You will find that in this musical, Grey Gardens is just right for anyone who has a fear of becoming a cat lady or single.
