What exactly constitutes a horror film? Is it just any film that scares the audience? Or is there a deeper psychological reason as to why these films can truly be considered horrific by the viewer? Whatever the reason, all horror films have one thing in common: they play upon any number of common fears and anxieties of everyday existence. In recent years, the focus has been on mortal death and the existence of an afterlife.
