husband's business partner. The McCain campaign went into damage control and issued a statement condemning the charges by the supermarket tabloid, whose revelations that 2004 Democratic Vice Presidential nominee John Edwards had conducted an affair with a campaign aide scuttled his political career.

The National Enquirer has a history of causing major trouble for straying politicians. It made key revelations in the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal that led to President Bill Clinton's impeachment. The revelations about Sarah Palin's adulterous affair were headlined on the cover of the recent edition of the tabloid, which promised to reveal SARAH PALIN'S DARK SECRETS.

The article currently is not on the National Enquirer's Web site. The country's #1 supermarket tabloid apparently means to make fodder out of the sexual peccadilloes of John McCain, as the Web site features an article on McCain's cheating on his first wife.

Steve Schmidt, a senior official on the McCain campaign, denounced the cover story. "The smearing of the Palin family must end," he told the press. "The allegations contained on the cover of the National Enquirer insinuating that Gov. Palin had an extramarital affair are categorically false. It is a vicious lie."

The attack on the media fits in with a theme of the McCain campaign, which is that the "liberal" media is against McCain and Sarah Palin for being conservatives and mavericks who are outside of the Washington, D.C. mainstream that both candidates, in reality, have navigated so well in their careers. In her speech accepting the Republican Vice Presidential nomination, Palin disingenuously attacked the press for saying that John McCain would not win the nomination.

I want to hear what Palin has to say about this. If she says nothing we would assume it is true, if she is not denying the accusation. However, if she is angered by it and denies, I would assume it was all a lie, because everyone gets angry when a lie was told about them, and I would trust her. If she is calm than I don't know what to believe, either she can be lying to save her a** or she is not an emotional person, who wants to get the mess out of the way. So, what will it be Palin???

Interestingly, she is often portrayed as a Moose slayer. Is this a symbolical refutation of the Progressive wing of the Republican Party, as epitomized by Teddy Roosevelt, who broke with the party to run as a Bull Moose?

Really, Carlin, this is the "tip of the iceberg", huh? She's not the down home hockey mom she claims to be, you say? Well, certainly sounds like you have some dirt on her. Care to share... ...or are you just speculating because you don't like her politically? Yeah, guessing it's the second...thanks for the contribution.

A Vice President is a President-in-waiting. The idea of having an amiable (or in this case, sexy) non-entity as a Vice President went out with the 19th Century.

Well, if Barack Obama can admit to using Cocaine AND Pot, and NOBODY cares, then I don't see why anything Palin has done matters either. At LEAST she has some real experience, unlike Obama, who is actually running for President instead of VICE PRESIDENT !!!

This is a liberal asking people not to prematurely judge any candidate until all the facts are revealed. I listen to balanced news broadcasts like the Jim Lehrer News Hour on PBS. I also visit Congress.org and gov.state.ak.us for information about the candidates. Votes don't lie!

Palin also violated state law in the August Primary by campaigning, while a seated governor, on behalf of the foreign mining company's who opposed a clean water initiative. Complaints have been filed but the Alaska Public Offices Commission is holding off the investigation until after the election. The statute violated is the same statute Gov. Palin busted Alaska republican party Randy Reudich on, back several years when she was a reform politician. All communication btwn the foreign mining company's and Gov Palin have been requested under the freedom of information act.

just curious if you ever asked your doctor what position he graduated in his medical school class or do you just assume that if he made it thru the program that he was qualified?
