FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A Silver Lining Foundation hosts A Sterling Event on October 4 to raise money for no-cost mammograms for underserved women

CHICAGO (September 2008) - A Silver Lining Foundation (ASLF) will host its fourth annual gala, A Sterling Event, at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place (2233 South Martin L. King Drive) on Saturday October 4, with cocktails at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m.

The black tie event is hosted by NBC-5 personalities Rob Elgas and Ginger Zee and attendees will experience an eye-popping live auction and juggling display. Tickets are available for purchase at www.asilverliningfoundation.org for $300 per person, or $3,000 per table.
In addition to the auction, the evening will feature a raffle, dinner and dancing to the music of Rhythm City.

Launched in 2002 by Dr. Sandy Goldberg, a breast cancer survivor, ASLF provides cancer related resource information including treatment options and support services to uninsured and underinsured individuals. All proceeds from A Sterling Event support ASLF's unique Buy A Mom A Mammogram™ program, which funds screening mammograms at partner hospitals in Illinois and northwest Indiana. Since the Buy A Mom A Mammogram program's inception in 2006, ASLF has provided more than 3,000 women with information about and access to no cost screening mammograms. In response to the growing number of women needing follow up testing due to a suspicious screening mammogram, ASLF began funding diagnostic testing in 2007.

"The evening will be a great opportunity to support a worthy cause, enjoy wonderful entertainment and celebrate life," said Dr. Goldberg, who formed ASLF in honor of her late mother.

The gala has been generously underwritten by A. Marek Fine Jewelry of Oak Brook for the past three years. Information about the October 4 event including individual ticket and table prices are available www.asilverliningfoundation.org.
