Everyone loves a good Chick Flick now and then; here are some of my favorites:

"When Harry Met Sally" (1989) -

This is a classic! The relationship between Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan is dead on in its portrayl of meaningful relationships between men and women. In my experience, it is those good frienships that turn into solid relationships (my sister and I were friends with our boyfriends for years before we dated them). If nothing else, the comedy is worth it! The orgasm scene alone is priceless.

"Amelie" (2002) -

This French film turned into a cult classic when released in the U.S. back in 2002. The pure innocence of Amelie and her simple quest to make others happy is heartwarmning. In addition, the movie has a unique feel due to the fact that it was made in France. Its look is refreshing for those of us who don't watch many foreign films. This movie will make you want to travel to Europe!

"Evita" (1996) -

If you don't like musicals or Madonna, this movie isn't for you. However, if you are interested in seeing Madonna actually perform as a decent actress, and like a good historical story as well, then you'll love "Evita." Quite honestly, Madonna shines in the role of Eva Peron - the wife of Argentine dictator Juan Peron. While I grew up loving Madonna's music, I never thought that she could act at all. Maybe that is why she comes across so very well in "Evita." She is playing a character that is all too similar to her own personality. In addition, the relationship between Juan Peron and Eva is heartwarming in the movie. They even added additional songs for the movie ("Evita" was adapted from a Broadway musical). Another plus in the movie is Antonio Banderas, who plays the role of Che. In Argentina, the name and term Che is used to refer to the common people. In other words, Antonio Banderas's Che in the movie serves as a type of public commentary. As Eva claimed to represent the common people, Che's purpose in the movie and play is to remind her of her promises to the people, as well as to show her importance to their daily lives. If you have any interest in history at all, and love chick flicks, this is for you!

"Bridget Jones Diary" (2001) -
