Christmas Cartoon Specials that Take You Down Memory Lane

This time of year always brings back memories of my childhood. Shopping for gifts, putting up decorations, and eating Christmas cookies are just some of the traditions of the holiday. Other traditions may be watching some of the classic Christmas theme movies or classic Christmas cartoons that come on television this time of year. I will list some of the best Christmas cartoons specials for the season.

A Charlie Brown Christmas which was created in 1965 and is still going strong today. There have been Charlie Brown specials for all the major holidays, but the Christmas special has always been a standout. In the cartoon, Charlie Brown is trying to find the true meaning of Christmas. This holiday special teaches kids and adults alike what Christmas is really about.

A Garfield Christmas Special is also a good special for the family. This special has Garfield, along with Jon and Odie visiting Jon's family for Christmas. Garfield does not have much Christmas spirit, until he finds letters from Jon's deceased Grandfather written to Jon's Grandmother and gives them to her. Garfield finds out that Christmas is about love and being with family.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas is another holiday favorite. This is a story of how the Grinch stole all the Christmas presents on Christmas Eve, but the residents of Whoville still celebrate Christmas and are happy just to be together. Seeing this the Grinch decides to change his evil ways and give everybody their gifts back. This Christmas special inspired the movie of the same name starring Jim Carrey as the Grinch.

Frosty the Snowman is also a Christmas classic. This is the story of how a snowman comes to life after a magic hat lands on his head. This Christmas special was based on the popular Christmas song of the same name.
