Step Parenting Q&A Advice - Rae's Writes Volume 2

Dear Rae~

I have just started dating a man that has two boys from a previous relationship. His ex-wife, we will call her "Suzi" is a complete control freak! She dictates everything to my new beau and he is totally submissive and compliant in catering to her demands. She dictates when and where he will pick up the boys, regardless of what the court order says and she tells him what they will eat and how they will dress even when they are with him. She completely acts as if he is incapable of parenting without her involvement. I just wonder if she will always want to control the situation and if he will always comply with her demands, or if he is simply not wanting to stir the pot with her just yet? We have been dating for just over three months and he just introduced me to his ex-wife and the boys. She did not say much in my presence, but I am sure he got her two cents worth once I was not around. I guess I just don't know how to deal with this whole situation, and I have no children of my own from which to draw experience from. Whatever should I do?
