Oprah Rumored to Be Refusing a Sarah Palin Guest Spot

The Sarah Palin tornado of controversy has sucked in enough people on enough sides of the political and culture wars as it is. Now it may be about to draw in the biggest participant of all -- Oprah. As Oprah Winfrey's newest
Oprah Rumored to Be Refusing a Sarah Palin Guest Spot
season begins, a possible guest for her show would be expected to be the first female Vice Presidential nominee. But Sarah Palin may not be Oprah Winfrey's cup of tea because Oprah Winfrey has been a hard core Barack Obama supporter for some time. As Sarah Palin begins to make inroads into Barack Obama's lead for John McCain, Oprah may about to be drawn into the controversy by not inviting Palin on her show.

The Drudge Report first broke the rumors that Oprah had no plans to invite Sarah Palin onto her show, and the possible behind-the-scenes turmoil that may be causing. Many people on the Oprah Winfrey staff are reported to be arguing for Sarah Palin's invitation to the show. But those same reports hint that Oprah and some of her brass is against it because of Palin's efforts against Barack Obama.

It was reported that "half the staff" of the Oprah Winfrey show is pushing to get Palin invited to the show, while there are a lot of similar requests on Oprah's website.

As backlash begins to ensue for the nature of the media's coverage of Palin's various controversies, there is worry that Oprah Winfrey could face that kind of backlash as well. The Drudge Report story cited an unnamed executive as saying that a "dramatic backlash" could ensure if Oprah continues to refuse to invite Palin.

Oprah Winfrey came out for Barack Obama near the beginning of his campaign, and was reported to have said "I cried my eyes out" during Obama's acceptance speech in Denver last week. Oprah has backed Obama in various rallies and fundraisers, using her vast power to give Obama some boosts.

Oprah also drew some notice when she did not invite Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, who is hated by many Democratic supporters, onto her show when he went on a promotional tour for a book he wrote last year.

ok so in the interest of fairness for all why won't Oprah interview Sarah Palin before the election? Is she just so one-sided that she doesn't want someone from the opposing team on her program? she say's that her political opinion should be separate from her show and private life,... well I got news for ya sweetheart, when the name of your show is your first name you and your views are part of that show. www.getsarahpalinonoprah.net -- interesting site contains a place to put your view, a little more than just placing your name on a list. They seem to allow both sides to place their view, so if you don't like Sarah Palin you can still say so.

I think it is great that a black man is running for president and that a woman is on the Republican ticket. These are both exciting and groundbreaking events. Any journalist or talk show host who wasn't mentally challenged, on the take or a biggot, would love to have them on their show. Gee...I wonder what Oprah's issue is? She doesn't listen to her fans nor her employees. Oprah is out for Oprah, plain and simple. If you don't grease her palms, you don't get anywhere . I am tired of her obvious bias and selfishness. This is my thought... Avoid her show. Avoid her sponsors. Oprah...hear this and hear it good CLICK.
