Ever Wanted a Celebrity Autograph?

Let's face it. Everybody loves collecting something, whether it be stamps, old concert tickets, or even celebrity autographs. As an autograph collector, I have obtained some of my favorite actors and musicians signatures without ever meeting them. How you ask? Well, I have decided to share some of my tips with you.The first way to go about requesting a celebrity autograph is to find their fan mail address. This address could be the address of an agency or a personal mailbox the star has set aside for these types of requests. To find an address, google the stars name and look for their official website. This insures that the address will be correct and accurate (or there are certain websites devoted to fan mail addresses). The address will usually be found in the contact section of a site, containing either a mailing address or if you're lucky, an email address. Sometimes you will be lucky and find an address rather quickly, and other times the celebrity might not have an address at all.
If you were successful and found a standard mailing address, start with writing a short and sweet letter on any kind of paper you choose. Start out with writing how big of a fan you are of this person and their work, ending the letter with your kind request of an autograph. Celebrities usually do not have a lot of time to read all of their fan mail, so when they take the time to do so, make sure your letter is short and to the point (you'll have a better chance of getting a response that way).
After writing your letter, the next thing you will need is a photograph for the star to sign. The easiest way to get one is to print one off your computer's printer. I always send a photograph just in case to ensure that I will most likely get a response. Some celebrities do not always have enough headshots to give away to fans, so sending them your own photo is an easy solution (you might even get a headshot and your own picture signed).
