Palin is the New Celebrity in the Presidential Race, Although She Has Lost Her Theme Song

And the Republicans thought all of the craziness surrounding Obama was bad! Sarah Palin has very quickly (even faster than Obama) secured her spot in the heart of Americans, and her photos of her Tina Fey-ish face, as well as shots of her family members, are everywhere now. It's impossible to go through a day without Sarah Palin being one of the top news stories, and there's always something new about her that we don't know (and we still don't know a lot about her).
Sarah Palin has essentially become a bigger celebrity than Barack Obama. She even had her own theme song during the RNC, 'Barracuda' (a nickname from her basketball days). Unfortunately, sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson of the band Heart have requested that the Republican Party stop using the song because they do not agree with Palin's views. Too bad! The line "if the real thing don't do the trick, you better make up something quick" really describes what the GOP has been doing lately with all their talk of "change".

Palin's celebrity status is, of course, extremely ironic considering the fact that one of the most talked-about campaign ads produced by McCain's camp was focused on attacking Barack Obama for just being a celebrity that Americans are enamored with who is no different than Britney Spears or Paris Hilton. But Palin has a lot more in common with them than Barack does, with all sorts of rumors (some of which could be true and even delve into her sex life) about her posted all over the web. This did, of course, happen with Obama, just not on the scale it has with her.
