Bravo's hit television show "Project Runway" continues to establish new ground. This week, the designers were asked to design an outfit for acclaimed designer, Diane Von Furstenberg's, new fall collection. The winner's garment would be sold exclusively to cardholders from American Express.

Instead of their usual trip to Mood for fabric, however, the designers got to choose fabrics from Furstenberg's own collection. Some made exquisite choices while others, once again, went a bit astray.

Blayne's outfit, while cute, was not in style with Furstenberg's line. The golfer style pants were adorable but definitely couldn't be worn by every woman. The mohair jacket was cute as a button but seemed a bit out of place with the pants. And I really didn't get the strange print scarf that he used to fill the neckline.

Jerrell's outfit was a bit sad and poorly put together. The skirt was way too short for Furstenberg's typical customer and it was uneven at the hemline. The see through lace blouse was pretty but didn't seem to go with the heavy sweater style jacket. I also didn't understand why he put a printed scarf around the skirt waist as a belt and then added a bright blue belt on top of the jacket as well. And the hat was just too silly for words.

Joe opted for an oriental style wrap blouse in a pink coral print. However, he left the back open and the wrap added too much bulk to the mid-section. To compound problems further, his black pencil skirt was uneven in the back both at the waist and at the black slit. Worse yet, the pink belt added even more bulk to the midsection and clashed horribly with the coral top. The hooded scarf also seemed a bit too far out there.

Kenley opted to make a single dress in spite of the fact that most of her competitors were designing multiple pieces. While the final product was pretty, it wasn't anything spectacular, leaving the judges wondering if the designer was simply taking the easy way out. However, the designer came to her defense, stating that she liked that Kenley spent her time perfecting the piece.

Takeaways
  • Stella's pants looked like they were designed for a man.
  • Blayne's outfit was cute, but not done in Diane Von Furstenberg's style.
  • Leanne took home the prize for the second week in a row while Stella was declared "out!"

I really need to get cable LOL when we first built, there was no cable (dishes or rabbit ears) then it would cost an arm and leg to pay to have it brought to our house - 1200 feet away from the road. We just never got it - although we may someday....
