When you first discover that you are pregnant, many things may go through your mind, which may include, the enlargement of your waistline as well as those little stretch marks showing up. Stretch marks are just as they indicate. They are red and purple marks, which are left on your skin as a result of your skin being stretched. By keeping your skin moist at all times, this will help in allowing the skin to stretch without tearing it. Everyday more and more products are being developed to assist in preventing stretch marks. Ask your doctor what he or she recommends. Experiment with several products to see which one works best for you. Remember that preventing the development of stretch marks is something, which must be worked on everyday. Putting these products on once or twice is not enough to get the desired benefit. Most women fail to prevent stretch marks as a direct result of not sticking with the process.

While you are pregnant strive to eat healthy and stay in shape. By doing so, you will be able to keep off access weight. Access weight is the cause of many stretch marks. It is recommended that the average woman gain 25-35 pounds during their entire pregnancy. In addition be sure to drink plenty of water. When you drink plenty of water whether you are pregnant or not, your skin will stay hydrated and healthy. As soon as your skin starts to dry out, you will begin to get stretch marks.
