The HP Pavilion dv5000t is a rare laptop with barely any negatives that substitutes for a desktop in power, boasts a battery life longer than an ultra portable, weighs about as much a light gaming machine, and still costs less than some of the top laptops available today. The HP Pavilion dv5000t is fast, it's stylish, a workhorse, and still mobile enough to be considerer no matter what kind of a laptop you're looking for.
The HP Pavilion dv5000t has more than enough power to offer for anyone. The 2 Ghz Core Duo T2500 processor is great, although a Core 2 Duo version might be available soon. The 1GB of DDR 2 667 Mhz SDRAM is more than enough for any application, and combined with the great CPU power, the HP Pavilion dv5000t is one of the fastest laptops around. Easily beating most other laptops as far as the benchmarks are concerned, the HP Pavillion dv5000t turns in pretty impressive numbers:
ACD Systems ACDSee 610
Adobe Photoshop 333
Adobe Premiere 446
Ahead Nero 902
Discreet 3ds Max DirectX 300
Discreet 3ds Max OpenGL 306
Microsoft Office XP 554
Windows Media Encoder 298
Mozilla 368 Multitasking 461
Musicmatch Jukebox 520
Roxio VideoWave 275
WinZip 388
(The number represents the time in seconds to process the application completely).
The 100GB hard-disk (a 250GB upgrade is available, but is definitely not cheap) should be more than enough for anyone, and the extra space offered by optical drives and removable media devices should leave no need for upgrades. The \DVD+R DL/DVD±RW is a standard for the HP Pavilion dv5000t, and the other possible devices include - memory stick, SD card, Smartmedia, and XD picture card.
The ports and connectivity of the HP Pavilion dv5000t are also one of the best available today although the 3 USB 2.0 ports are less than average for today. The ports include 3 USB ports, a Firewire port, S Video port, Composite Video ports, a docking station port, a PC card slot and an ExpressCard slot. The 10/100 Ethernet adapter and the 802.11 a/g Wireless connection keep you connected along with the V.92 modem and the Bluetooth capability.
