Many individuals embark on purchasing hard-to-find items on eBay, such as classic memorabilia and computer parts. But whoever would have thought that eBay cares about the environment? I did not think so.

It seems that is about to change. WorldofGood.com is an up and coming website which will deal with selling and promoting products that focuses on social and environmental issues, such as saving the planet-type approach. This is a very brilliant idea since the theme for 2008 is to go green. It is about time that eBay jumps on the "green" bandwagon; everyone else is doing it.

The website is the result of the collaboration with eBay and World of Good. I think that it is a great idea for those individuals who want to purchase their products from a strictly environmentally conscious company. In perspective, World of Good will have some benefits of the site's revenue with the same type of issues in mind for their business. This company had been functioning as an online community for approximately six months.

Consumers will have the opportunity to look for goods based on social and/or environmental sections. A very good example of this search would be a ticket of an Earth Day event. If an individual is thinking of purchasing it, then it will give the origination of the ticket and event. It also gives information about the proceeds going to charity.

According to Robert Chatwani, who is the General Manager at WorldofGood.com, he stated, "we really want consumers to drill down into the detail of what's behind that product."

Since more individuals are aware of the social and environmental issues, why not have a website dedicated to this mission? Chatwani said that the Natural Marketing Institute's estimation for the American market for these goods was two hundred nine billion dollars in 2005. Also these projects will see an increase to four hundred twenty billion dollars around 2010. Global warming and the overall environmental issues are becoming big business.
