Unique Halloween Costume Ideas from U.S. History
Halloween is a great time to let your creativity rise to the top. Think about wearing a unique Halloween costume that fits the guidelines the Halloween party planner has given. One good source of almost unlimited ideas for
a unique costume is U.S. History. Here are some of the unique costume ideas, related to U.S. History that we have made in the last 20 years for wearing to great Halloween parties. Remember the topic is U.S. History. That does not mean every unique costume has to be of a person.
Elliot Ness - An easy and unique outfit to make is of Elliot Ness, Prohibition era crime fighter. All you need is some old style clothes and a few props from a costume company. A plastic Tommy gun and a fedora hat are a must for the party.
Fur Trapper - Many famous mountain men explored the areas west of the Mississippi trapping, exploring and gaining knowledge of routes west. Use your mom's old furs or get some really stinky ones, don't forget the fur hat, from the costume store.
Bonnie and Clyde - For couples this is great fun. They have to come with bullet holes in their clothing and with unique make up that looks like they have been shot up very badly. The costume store has stick on bullet holes for skin. Yuk!
Bag of Cocaine - this is a very fun Halloween costume. Get two very large plastic bags. Cut holes in the bottom of one for legs and holes in the other for your head and arms. When you get in - you wear sport shorts and t shirt. Once inside your helpers fill the bag with cotton puffs. You can also put cotton on your self if you want. The idea is to make the bag look full of cloudy white puffy stuff. Once done you are a bag of cocaine. This has been an award winner at many a party.
Matt Dillon and Kitty - Dodge City Sheriff Mat Dillon and his saloon girlfriend Kitty. Matt wears jeans, cowboy shirt, bandanna, boots with spurs, a cowboy hat, holster and gun (plastic please). She wears a sexy lacy knee-high dress. She may wear high heeled boots. They carry empty bottles of liquor.
