There are so many people wanting to work from home, and seemingly, even more who want to do data entry work from home. Unfortunately, the brutal truth is that there are very few legitimate data entry and typing work from home jobs - and I mean legitimate. There are so many scam artists out there offering so-called home data entry and typing jobs that it is downright disgusting. Let me share this with you before I go any further.

There are absolutely NO data entry or clerical work from home jobs where you will make $1000 or more a week part-time or even full-time. Just ask yourself do you know of anyone that does data entry or clerical work and makes as much as a special skilled or college educated career would bring. And in most instances I'm talking about graduate degrees. I have done data entry on and off for many years, and I have yet to even be able to make $500 a week full-time doing data entry or clerical work at home or onsite and I can key over 14,000 ksph, which, if you don't know, is very fast. Typing jobs are pretty much the same, although you can make a little more money if you type very fast, you will not make $1000 a week part or full-time.

I have worked from home since 1999 and have come across very few legitimate work from home data entry and typing jobs. Most of the legitimate work from home data entry and typing jobs are locally-based. So, your best bet is to look under the data entry, data processing, and clerical sections of your yellow pages and call each business. Ask them if they are hiring, or currently hiring, home keyers and typists, if they do, many will have an extremely long waiting list. This is how I found a couple of my home data entry jobs, I just let my fingers do the walking.

Takeaways
  • Home data entry and typing jobs are tough to find
  • Competition is fierce
  • There are no data entry or typing jobs where you will make $1000 a week doing part-time or full-time work

If someone needs work from you, why should they ask to pay them. Let anybody take a commission for allotting the work and pay the balance to the typist.

10/2007 I was recently sent an e-mail from the UK for a position in customer service from home. It was to collect money for Health products delivered to patients in the USA. When I replied to the e-mail with several questions I never received an answer to my questions. My resume was posted in Monsterjobs.com and that is where they got my information. I'm glad I never signed the contract, I would have been ripped off.

I have been trying for months to find a work from home job to just simply earn a little extra $. I'm not quitting my day job, just something I can do at home in the evenings and earn enough to cover a car payment, or a weeks groceries etc. Not a get rich quick, but something legitimate....do these really exist? Is it possible? And yes, I have sadly been scammed.

I work from home doing medical transcription in which pay is based on per line rate. I must say that if your typing speed, grammar, and medical terminology skills are good, you can make $1000 and more. It all depends on you.

Interesting article. I'd looked at sites for a couple of these companies that claim that if you pay them X amount of money, they'll give you the forms to fill out, the ads to post, and all that...Looked like a scam to me, though I know a few people who have unfortunately fallen into the trap and paid their money, only to be disappointed later. I'd be interested in learning more about your EBook; feel free to contact me via my profile.
