Autism, although extremely common now (1 in 300-500 children are affected by it, and the frequency is increasing), is still not given enough attention, and is still not properly understood by most people. To most people, Autism is just a mental disorder or that is genetic, when in fact, it is neither. While genes play a role in its occurrence, autism is not a direct result of a genetic malfunction at all. If is actually proper to compare autism in small child to opium addiction in adults (this will make sense very soon).

Some of the most commonly observed symptoms of autism in small children are:

They seem lost in their own world and cannot seem to focus.

They don't recognize anyone, including their parents and siblings.

They restrict themselves in terms of diet to dairy and wheat based foods.

Children with autism get irritable and sensitive to touch.

Many children with autism drag their forehead on the floor.

Autistic children lag in studies and don't seem to want to do anything at all.

Autism results in repetitive action like filling and emptying a cup over and over, or opening and and closing a door over and over or something similar.

The fact that autism has so long gone more or less unnoticed by the medical world while they're trying to treat AIDS and cancer instead of teaching people to abstain and to quit smoking is appalling. However, a closer observation reveals that these are very similar actions and attitudes that people on LSD, opium and some other addictive substances adopt. This led to a research where opiates were discovered in the urine of children with autism. This was obviously surprising because these kids were not being fed opium in any quantity what so ever.
