Dunan Hines Fluffy White Whipped Frosting offers consumers 50% more frosting for the same price as their 12 oz cans of frosting. Is it worth buying? Here is a product review.

Price of Duncan Hines Fluffy White Whipped Frosting 18 oz can: on sale 2 for $3.00. Serving Size 3 Tbsp. Servings Per Container About 14. Calories 160. Calories from Fat 80. Sugars 19.

Directions for easy spreading: Store unopened can at room temperature not over 80 F. Stir frosting at room temperature before using. Cool cake completely. Brush loose crumbs off cake before frosting. Cover and refrigerate any remaining frosting for up to 2 weeks.

The product claims that there is enough frosting for two 8" or 9" inch cake layers or 13 by 9-inch cake, brownies or 40 cupcakes.

Easy to Spread: Good. Duncan Hines Fluffy White Whipped Frosting was used to frost two square cakes, and a 9 by 12 serving box made out of gingerbread graham crackers. It was easy to spread and there was plenty of frosting left over.

Price: Good. Duncan Hines Fluffy White Whipped Frosting 18oz can was on sale for 2 for $3.00, which was the same price for their 12 oz cans of frosting.

Taste: Bad. The frosting has a powdery taste to it that was unpleasant, and the texture of the frosting was not as rich as one would hope. Also, the frosting looked rather thin on the cake. All leftover frosting looked surprisingly crumbly like a cheesecake or stiffly beaten egg whites.

Rating: Bad. I would have rather have spent my money on a smaller can of frosting that tasted better. Although, this 18 oz can of Duncan Hines Whipped Fluffy White Frosting seemed like a bargain, it actually is not. I say go for the smaller can and avoid this "value" at all costs.

Takeaways
  • Consumers get 50% more frosting.
  • The price of the frosting was 2 for $3.00.
  • The taste was bad.
Did You Know?
It is always best to leave canned frosting at room temperature before icing your cake.

I just made a cake and unfortunetely put the frosting on before tasting it. I immediately threw the entire cake away! The frosting tasted like floor wax smells. It was horrible. It had a chemical taste and bitter after taste. I will never eat canned frosting again! If you hear on the news that a women in GA died from something mysterious... It's ME and it was that frosting that killed me! YUK!

Duncan Hines Whipped Fluffy White Frosting made me VERY sick. It caused about 5 hours of extreme vomitting and cramps. I had only eatten two bites, then threw my cake into the garbage. I'm shocked to find no recall was issued about this terrible frosting. I found many others were effected the same as I was. My over 70 year old mother ate a very small piece of the cake frosted with this frosting too. She did not become as sick, but did suffer strong cramps which lasted all night. Why would Duncan Hines sell this? Why has no recall been issued ??? Duncan Hines Whipped Fluffy White Frosting makes people sick !!

I will never ever buy canned frosting again. My teenage daughter had the sense to taste some of the frosting before spreading it on her made-from-scratch sour cream chocolate chip cake. It was the most revolting thing I've ever tasted and it would have ruined the entire cake, not to mention make our whole family and our guests terribly sick. It tasted like plastic, like a chemical plastic. Was this crap made in China?? I'm taking it back to the store today but something else needs to be done. Just looking at the lengthy list of chemical-type ingredients makes me nauseous. I ended up mixing a package of cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and maple syrup together and made the best off-the-cuff frosting ever. There's no need to buy this canned crap and my daughter has learned a very valuable lessen about our industrialized food supply and cutting corners. Thanks Duncan Hines!

I had the same experience. My kids were so excited to have a cake. We got sick and my 5 year old, 12 year old, and my husband began to throw up violently afterwards. I dont understand why this hasnt been recalled. Why would anyone buy this? I thought that since duncan hines has such a good reputation that it would be just fine. I will never buy anything Duncan Hines again.

We became really sick after eating this frosting (probably 3 months ago). Duncan Hines used to be my favorite. Threw out the red cake after I scraped off the frosting to return to the grocery store (told them it made us sick). Never tasted paint; but that is what came to mind. Was surprised to not see a recall online.

I completely agree with the previous two posts... I thought it was disgusting and can't imagine anybody would find it palatable, much less delicious. My roommate described the taste as "chemical-y" and one of my other friends thought it tasted like glue.

This stuff should be recalled! A chemical-like taste makes this frosting pretty bad! I tried a piece of cake with this on and I don't think even the dog would eat it. Sorry, Duncan Hines...

This icing taste so bad. I have never had a problem with Duncan Hines before. I had to throw my 8 year olds cake in the garbage. It tasted like chemicals or cleaners fell in the icing.. It was BAD....
