The Curse of Saturday Night Live

After the tragic death of Phil Hartman, there are those in the media that quickly invoked the "Curse Of Saturday Night Live". They claim that a mystic curse is responsible for the early deaths of John Belushi, Gilda Radner and Chris Farley. On the other side of the coin, there are those that say Belushi and Farley killed themselves, and Gilda was just the victim of genetic roulette. The same cancer crap shoot that killed Michael O'Donoghue, Andy Kaufman and Denitra Vance. Would that it were just random cast member effected we could ignore the curse, but it goes deeper than just those seven. 

The story goes that Tony Hendra, failed actor and dabbler in the black arts, placed the curse on Saturday Night Live after Lorne Michaels raided the cast of The National Lampoon's Stage Show in 1975 for his fledgling S.N.L., and left a bitter Hendra behind. This tale would have all the making of bad "Alfred Hitchock Presents" script, were it not for the fact that the Curse of SNL has destroyed the lives of every single cast member. 

Belushi, Radner, Hartman and the other's only lost their lives. Julia Sweeney, Charles Rocket, and Tim Meadows paid the ultimate price: They were in the SNL Spin-off movie "It's Pat". 

Submitted for your approval, a run down of how the Curse of SNL has spread its foul influence into the lives of all of the cast members from 1975 to present day:

DAN AYKROYD 1975-79
His TV show, "Soul Man", got dumped by ABC and picked up by UPN, which might have been worst than getting canceled. The curse is also responsible for the movies "Celtic Pride", "Blues Brothers 2000", "Caddyshack II", "East of Eden", "Nothing But Trouble" and "Sgt. Bilko". Born with webbed toes, Aykroyd could be the person to be hit the worst by the curse and live. 

PETER AYKROYD 1980
Was in "Dr. Detroit" with his brother, and co-wrote "Nothing But Trouble" (as well as playing the Doorman). Hasn't been heard from since. 

MORWENNA BANKS 1994-95
After "The Critic" was taken off the air, she was forced to take her own show to UK. 

JAMES BELUSHI 1983-85
His series "Total Security" stiffed. Played himself in "Last Action Hero".
