For the video gaming community, 2006 offered many new advancements in product availability and video gaming technology. Of these, the release of the Wii gaming console, by Nintendo, provided the video gaming community with a new interactive approach to gaming. When considering the purchase of a home video gaming system, the consumer is well advised to become educated in the various technologies and applications the gaming systems provide. From PlayStation 3 to the Wii gaming console, the gaming community is offered a variety of specialized applications from intellectual and physical gaming experiences to those with a combination of both. The Wii, distributed by Nintendo, is a unique home gaming system. As a follower to the Nintendo GameCube, the Wii gaming console provides for a unique technology experience. As a three dimension (3D) system, the Wii gaming console is creating a storm among the technology and gaming community due to its ability to provide for a fully interactive gaming experience. With sporting games from basketball to tennis, the Wii gaming console provides for a greater physical activity level and encourages group and interaction. Teams can be created making the Wii gaming console a unique home addition for not only intense gamers but also for birthday parties and home events.
Providing for a more physically interactive and not necessary intellectually interactive, gaming experience, Nintendo's Wii gaming console is being marketed as a true gaming system for an entire family. From children to grandparents, the Wii offers gaming and interactive play for individuals of all ages. Through use of a wireless remote, the individual playing the Wii interactive game can now use not only hands and fingers to control gaming movement, but also use full body motion. As a result, the brain and body are now coordinated into a full interactive gaming feature.
