If you are in search of a diet plan that is going to work, and you have tried various plans, but none of them seems to fit you or the lifestyle you lead, then I might have the best diet plan ever, just for you! I have been where many of you are. In truth, I am still there. My weight has fluctuated through the years, always seeming to end on the up end of the scale whenever I got brave enough to step on one. So how can I claim to have the best diet plan ever? Simple, I am finally losing weight, though slowly, and the scale has only gone down, not up, in months. So what is the big secret? I gave up on dieting and decided to get real.

To rehash, consider the diet plans you have tried, and ask yourself why you think they did not work. For me, many of the food choices were unrealistic, for many different reasons. Some were just too expensive, others too difficult to prepare and cook along with the meals I also had to cook for my family. Others were boring, or just plain not enough food to keep my appetite satisfied, so I ended up eating even more junk when my cravings for real food overruled the supposedly sensible plan I happened to be currently following. All of these reasons led me to abandon more diet plans than I once imagined even existed. When I called it quits though, I had what was somewhat of a revelation.

I wanted to be healthy, and after a couple of medical scares, I made the toughest decision I had ever made where my health was concerned. I looked back at all of the diet plans I had been on over the years, and I asked myself if there were any parts of each that I could follow, and if so, were there any health benefits for doing so. I then made a bargain with myself. I agreed to never diet again, but to eat as healthy of both foods and the quantity of them as I was capable of doing. This meant adjusting my eating, not tossing it out the window completely. I also agreed to increase my activity level, but more on that later.

Takeaways
  • Admit you need to lose weight and get healthy.
  • If you really want to eat something, eat it, but do so in moderation.
  • After one week, you will notice a difference.
Did You Know?
Diets often fail because the food choices are unrealistic for the average person.
