If you are thinking of doing something very different this holiday season you may want to try making your very own potato printed wrapping paper. Potato print wrapping paper is an old fashioned way of making wrapping paper. Potato print wrapping paper is great for any occasion where you give a gift like Christmas, birthdays, or even a wedding. It is different and unique and very individual since you can make it as personal as you want.

All you need to make potato print wrapping paper is some clean paper that can be any color or size but the bigger then better since you can use it for larger presents or multiple presents. Some ink or paint that can be any color or colors you want to use you can even have silver for a wedding present or shower gift. You will need a potato or more potatoes depending on how many different patterns you want to use and a knife to cut the potatoes with. A large clean surface is required to make your wrapping paper on to keep your paper clean and good for using as wrapping paper. And you will need a dish that is flat and large enough to accommodate the potato that you are going to make into a potatoes stamper.

Decide what kind of design you want on your wrapping paper, a bell is an easy design and very nice for wedding's and Christmas paper. After you have decided what kind of design you want on your wrapping paper take the potato and cut it in half. You can use a large potato or small but the potato should be of a good quality. Then in the flat cut out side of the potato you can take the knife and make the design you want. Cut the potato slowly so you cut it accurately and also so you don't cut yourself. After you have cut out the design you want you will now have a potatoes stamper and it is then time to print the wrapping paper.
