Cats are a mysterious pet and they want to leave some mystery about themselves. They are very private about themselves and only want to share the things they want to share with there owners. Cats are elusive and somewhat loners taking a big part of there day in slumber and then having a burst of energy that will take there owners breath away. But when they are ready they can be very cuddly with their person as well but for the most part it has to be under there terms. Of course there are some exceptions to the rules and I know of a few but for the most part when I walk into a home that has a cat the cat disappears into the shadows doing it's best to avoid and keep away from the visitor.

Domestic cats like to bury there feces but in the wild only the cats that are very timid do. They don't want to advertise that they had been there. Aggressive cats however will create a little hill and deposit their's on the top telling everyone who happens by that they were there. Its kind like a billboard announcing to the world that "this is my territory so watch it." Possibly domestic cats are submissive to their humans after all and all the elusive behavior is a cover-up.

If a cat licks itself and then rubs against you that is the cat's way of tasting you. A cat tastes things in order to get to know it so if it wants to taste what you taste like it is just the cat's way of getting to know you. It's like a humans handshake. Cats love to play cat and mouse. If a cat catches a mouse and it just plays with the mouse instead of eating it then the cat just isn't hungry. A wild cat never takes the time to play with its food instead it eats everything it takes the energy to catch.

Some people think that when a cat purrs it is happy probably but it is also a sign that the cat is being social with you or another living thing. It is being receptive to the idea of socializing so it just might be ok to pet a cat when it purrs. A cat whiskers are sensitive to air currents and the whiskers help the cat to see in the dark by what the air current is doing. So it's like a current going around a piece of furniture helps the cat know the furniture is there.
