Elsie Harris, 75, formerly of Toms River, NJ passed away Sept. 11, 2008. She had been battling vascular dementia and kidney failure while residing at Brookmont Heath Care Facility in Effort, PA. Her last days were spent in love and peace surrounded by her daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also surrounded by the angels of Brookmont who cared for her as if she were a part of their families.

Ms. Harris was an amateur piano player in the 1960's and 1970's who played several night clubs and restaurants in the Ocean County New Jersey area. She was also a Certified Nurses Assistant who helped many people who were sick, disabled or dying. She had an uncanny ability to grow flowers in any season, was a big fan of the Muppets and loved the color pink.

She is survived by her daughter Doreen, her estranged son Wayne, her grandchildren Linda, Amy, Barry, Eric and Tara and her great grandchildren Kyle, Patrick and Andrew. She is also survived by her beloved dog Billy Boy.

Her life was filled with ups and downs but in the last years she was truly blessed. At age 74, after being alone for years, she was given the chance to fall in love again. It made her feel younger, smile more and laugh with joy. She will be missed by all of us who knew and loved her.
