Joker Halloween Costume

The Joker from the long enduring Batman comic book series, the TV shows and multiple big screen movies is a great Halloween costume choice. Here are a few ideas and some
information for you to use while making your costume. The Joker always looks basically the same. In almost every image we see of him he is wearing a dark suit with a white shirt that has stripes. Of course the main prop is the Joker mask. In the latest movie there was no mask but white face paint makeup. You could do either, depending on which you prefer and which you feel fits the character the best. These props are a must and in this case can be an example of something you could find at the second hand store or costume store sellout after Halloween. You can make a paper Mache Joker mask if you cannot find one to buy.

The Joker has disheveled long dark hair. If you chose to do the white paint face make up you have quite a bit of leeway. There have been several versions done. The basic make up is heavy on black eye liner and very red lips. If you are making a Joker mask then you will have the same issues but in normal paint. Do not forget to put some playing card Jokers in the suit pockets, sticking out, or even pinned to the lapel.

A trip to the magic shop should load you up easily, if not inexpensively, with Joker type props. The most famous is the gun that when fired has a flap pop out with the word BANK on the flag. Don't forget the hand shaking buzz buzzer as well. Any of those type of props is appropriate for your Joker costume.

With the Joker you have a wide range of personalities and emotions you can play on because the guy is just flat bonkers crazy. So have fun being crazy with this character and this costume. You will not believe the fun you can have when everyone feels your crazy actions are within character.
