Giving Up

A Limericked Wail on a Gossip's Tale

7
"Gossip is the Devil's radio."
George Harrison
(1943 - 2001)

They found him underneath his chair.
Who knows how long he waited there.
The tongues wagged wild,
As rumors riled,
With theories flying everywhere.

A chocolate wrapper in his grip
Soon silenced each and every quip.
Disaster fell,
But none could tell:
What caused the strongest one to slip?

He wouldn't plead for help serene,
The poor boy never made a scene.
They missed the point -
Not drink or joint.
He'd simply given up caffeine!
