There have been many Superhero movies that has beet the big screen over the years. However, many of the comic adaptations fail to make an impression on their long standing fan base. Directors either try to hard to make a blockbuster or rush through the movie in order to cover the entire story. However, there are some movies that portray the Superhero perfectly, winning big with the fans and at the box-office. I decided to choose the 5 best superhero movies that were definitely a notch above the rest.

Superman II - 1980

The sequel to the 1978 "Superman: The Movie", kept loyal fans of the comic book legend wanting more. In the first Superman movie, director Richard Donner introduced the Man of Steel to the big screen, but the movie lacked a challenge for Superman. In the second movie, General Zod and his henchman prove to be major challenge and end up being a great fight scene towards the end of the movie. As always, Christopher Reeve was excellent portraying comic books greatest icon and Gene Hackman still remains one of my favorite villains of all-time.

Batman Begins - 2005

This movie was simply the best Batman movie ever made. Christian Bale, who was absolutely brilliant as Bruce Wayne and Batman, competes with Michael Keaton as to who portrayed the Dark Knight the best. Director Christopher Nolan creates a dark and depressed Gotham City, similar to the original Batman movies. The reason why I loved this movie so much was due to the fact that there is a bit of realism to the movie. There are no supernatural villains and unrealistic "space-like" bat-vehicles. I'm also glad to finally see the origin of Bruce Wayne and the reasons behind his transformation to Batman.

X2 X-Men United - 2003

Being a huge X-Men fan, I was very pleased with the sequel to the original movie (X-Men: The Movie - 2002) even though the storyline is way off, compared to the comic books, director Bryan Singer does an excellent job of putting together a plot that avid fans can still relate too. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine is always the biggest bright spot in the series, but characters such as Nightcrawler, Storm, Jean Gray, and Mystique, help put this movie over the top.
