To begin your quest for a Halloween Skeleton Decorating Contest you need to decide who your target audience will be. Will you have a contest for different age categories, divisions or will it be open to everyone? What size skeletons do you want to have for decorating; will they be full size or mini? What will the prizes be and who will be the judge? I suggest opening your Skeleton Decorating Contest to everyone and encouraging parents and children to work on the contest together. Perhaps have a one entry per family limit. I also suggest have the skeleton full size, allow the participants the option of using a plastic skeleton or making their own skeleton out of whatever materials that see fit. I also suggest having categories in your Skeleton Decoration Contest. Categories to consider are Scariest Skeleton, Most Unique Skeleton, Cutest Skeleton, Funniest Skeleton and Most Original Skeleton. Feel free to use your own ideas to make the Skeleton Decorating Contest original.
Once you have an outline of how you want your Skeleton Decorating Contest to go, advertising is the next step. Making flyers is a great way to get the word out. You can post flyers in local businesses, post offices and even in the schools. Request the teachers to encourage their kids to participate in the Skeleton Decorating Contest. You can even call the local newspapers and radio stations to see if they will grant you some free advertising if you mention their participation at the close of your contest. Use your own advertising skills and ideas as well.

Great ideas. You thought of some great things that I didn't when I wrote on the same topic. Best of luck to you in your future writing endeavors!
