Greatest TV Couples That Never Made it

10. Moonlighting. Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd were David Addison and Maddie Hayes for four years (1985-1989), kick-starting Willis's career and forcing fans to fall in love with this off-beat detective dramedy. For years, we watched in agony as sexual tensions mounted between beautiful Maddie and wise-cracking David. When they finally did get together, nothing seemed to work out the right way, and fans were left disappointed with their ending.9. Friends. David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston were the quintessential will-they-or-won't-they couple. They couldn't get together, they couldn't stay apart. Audiences were filled with joy when Ross knocked up Rachel, and yet they still couldn't make it work! Though Friends may be over, fans still like to imagine that Ross and Rachel worked out their differences and ended up happily married...somewhere in New York.
8. Roseanne. Roseanne and Dan Connor, also known as Roseanne Arnold and John Goodman, seemed the embodiment of the middle-aged married couple. Despite their troubles with finances, children, and family, they dealt with every problem with laughter and love. Then they suddenly got a divorce after a decade of TV marriage. Why, Roseanne and Dan, why? Fans were displeased, and the show went off the map after the break-up.
7. A Simple Life. Not a couple in the true sense of the word, fans were still shocked when Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie decided to "stop being friends." What? After three seasons of wreaking havoc and yet managing to warm our cockles with your obvious loyalty, friendship, and laughter? Their break-up almost guarantees low ratings, though their catfights have been entertaining. Fans still hope for a reunion.
6. Saturday Night Live. Of all the great pairs that have graced the SNL stage, none have brought us as much laughter as Mike Meyers and Dana Carvey as the illustrious Wayne and Garth. Once Austin Powers fame came, you can't even find the two men in the same room together. Mike, what's wrong? Give Dana some kind of cameo at least! These two should be reunited again, if not as Wayne and Garth, then at least as Mike and Dana.
