Rosie we hardly knew ya.

Rosie may be leaving The View. I hope not, but the subject is constantly being brought up and it looks like it might happen. Hopefully she'll stay for at least a full year. She just joined the ladies on ABC this past summer. It's too early to fairly judge her. Here's why I think she should stay.

Entertainment Value

Rosie's a comedian and a good one. Not everyone may appreciate her in your face banter, but nobody can deny she's lighting fast with adlibs. Some complain she locks horns with Joy Behar, but Joy is more than capable of taking care of herself. Also Joy has never been funnier. Her friendly competition with Rosie to see who comes up with the better joke or one liner keeps it interesting and entertaining. Isn't that why we watch talk shows? For sheer entertainment value, Rosie's contribution can't be beat.

Hotter Hot Topics

The View is a talk show and good talk means a mix of ideas. It purports to shed light on issues of the day - offering up different points of view to have balance. Rosie is a gay Mom and she's married to a woman. She's obviously experienced things differently than Barbara Walters or Elizabeth Haselbeck and brings her own distinct viewpoint to the proceedings. The show's lead off segment, the popular Hot Topics is all the better for Rosie's outspoken opinions.

Live Factor

The View is filmed live. Spontaneity is another attraction. We never know what to expect and many tune in to see something unscripted. Since she's joined, Rosie has been embroiled in a few controversies, most notably a mini-feud with Kelly Rippa of Live With Regis & Kelly over pop singer Clay Aiken. Then the Asian community was upset over her less than accurate attempt at speaking Chinese. Ironically, the Chinese joke came when she was talking about her feud with Kelly making headlines all over the world, even in China.

I think Rosie is too smart for the view!! She lowered herself when she took this job! Get out and on with something else Rosie! I feel sorry for all that is being said about her! Awlful!!

I used to LOVE The View and I used to LOVE Rosie on her own talk show. I don't really like the 2 put together. Rosie is too "me-me-me" to let the other ladies have their own opinions. I think it's her time to leave The View. They need someone more like....Meredith.

I'm going to be unpopular, but I've been ready for Rosie to go since the day she arrived. I no longer watch the view because it is a one woman show any more. I want to "hear" everyone's opinions; not just hers. I respect her point of view (no pun intended) but it isn't the only one.

I think The View has a lot of power and life left in it... It's like any news show or even SNL - the casts/players may change, but the basic premise is strong and always fun.

Seriously, The View is a show who's time has come and gone. They are nothing more than a bunch of cackling hens (or is that sharks?) on too much caffeine and if you were to stick your arm in the foray, you'd probably pull back a bloody stump. As a woman I feel the View is nothing more than an embarrassment to women that live anywhere other than with their heads in the tabloids.

Exactly Sherri - who wants someone boring who never speaks their mind? It's a talk show & prides itself on topical issues - agree or disagree with Rosie, she always has an opinion & the show is never boring now that she's on it.

Great review on Rosie! I like her opinionated attitude combined with humor. Hopefully she will stay.
