Atlanta is a very culturally diverse city, and with that comes many different types of neighborhoods. Some are in a period of revival, while others are thriving economically. These Atlanta neighborhoods are worth the trip to visit and you might decide to stay.Atlantic Station
A very popular up and coming neighborhood is Atlantic Station, a huge urban renewal project. Developed as a mixed-use neighborhood, it is home to the largest Ikea in North America along with several restaurants, cafes, and bars. Many condos and loft apartments have sold for upwards of $300,000, with many more to come.
Buckhead
Buckhead got its name from a local tavern that had a buck's head prominently displayed, and was annexed into the city in 1952. The main streets are West Paces Ferry Road and Peachtree Road, and includes Atlanta's wealthiest neighborhoods. Two main shopping malls situated diagonally across the street from one another, Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza, house more than 350 shops. Many luxury hotels and highly rated restaurants can be found throughout Buckhead. Local residents often refer to this neighborhood as the "Beverly Hills of the South". Because it is such a highly rated place to live, the prices are outrageous, so plan on spending a load to live here.
