I was born and bred in fear and it is important for me to remember that that is not what God wants for us. He wants us to have faith and trust in Him. We as a people may have many diversified backgrounds and faiths. We may not all or any of us believe or feel the same. What I do know though is that we all want our families and friends to be healthy, happy, and secure. We all want our country to be restored. We want our families to have food, shelter, security and health. Even if you don't agree with me on my opinions about who should be president or how the country should be run I think that we all want pretty much the same thing. We just don't know how we are going to get there or who can help us achieve it. Through these very difficult times I have to try to remain faithful to God and believe that He is faithful to us.This is a poem about how I feel right now.
My Prayer for Today, Everyday
I will not allow myself to become paralyzed with fear.
No matter what happens here.
Banks and companies may crumble,
Homes and family may stumble.
Still there is hope when we support each other.
Not just families but friends are brothers.
Just as the tree has roots deep and wide,
We need to brace our roots side by side.
Share your fears and sadness,
Don't let the shame, terror and madness,
Keep you isolated, lonely and paralyzed.
Take counsel from the learned and wise.
We may be here for such a time so brief,
But when here you can feel such grief.
Hold fast to faith in family but mostly God,
He is our strength and strong rod,
Talk to others and share their pain,
Share your bounties and your rain.
We can weather any storm,
As long as we know we're not alone.
Help me to remember this God, today and everyday.

Keeping the Faith
I find peace in the country and especially in the country. I love to search for solitude among my Amish family and friends.
