Spring Break at Evergreen Lodge in Yosemite

7
Most of the time when you hear "spring break vacation", you think of beach, bikinis, and lots of traffic. You may be like me and out of the college-age mindset of break and more into the family-oriented mindset. Where do you go when you want to get away but without the hustle and bustle of the spring break crowd?
If you're near the west coast, try Yosemite!

Yosemite national park boasts an amazing array of waterfalls, beautiful views, campsites, and custom vacations for whatever your needs are. However, several hotels and lodges near the Yosemite area offer package deals for whatever your family size.

Take for instance the package deal offered by Evergreen Lodge. They have a Spring package deal designed for all sizes of families. In their 3-night package, Evergreen Lodge in Yosemite includes campfire activities (like roasting s'mores, of course), rangers that will come out and teach you about the woods. Conveniently included are arts and crafts projects for the kids to do, pre-packed lunches to eat on your hike, and three-course dinner.

The accommodations for the Evergreen Lodge aren't too shabby, either. The newly-built, private, one-room cottages offer spectacular wilderness views while giving just enough coziness to fit a two to four-person family. The living room area has a fold-out sofa bed (great if you have small kids), while the bedroom has a queen-size bed so that parents can sleep in a separate room.

If you want a more "rustic chic" adventure for the family, choose the 2-bedroom family cabins. They have a woodsier feel to them, but offer more space and twin beds in a separate room instead of a fold-out sofa.

Also included in the package deal is a guided activity provided by the lodge staff. You can take a snowshoe walk, a hiking trip, or a van tour. If you decided to go out on your own, Evergreen Lodge at Yosemite throws in a "Hit the Trail" welcome basket. When you get back, the lodge also offers evening activities besides campfires like live music, bingo, movies and more.

As far as pricing goes, it depends on how many nights, where you stay, and how many children you bring.
