THE WAR ON TERROR

The cut and run, left wing nuts are still at it. Our NDP leader, Jack Layton, supported our then prime minister when he committed our troops to Afghanistan for a peacemaking, not peacekeeping mission. Now that we have a Conservative PM, Mr. Layton wants to get out somewhere along the timeline of yesterday. Casualties are mounting and the PM committed our troops to 2 more years of being in country. Jack says this is all a surprise to him. Equine excrement. He wants to be a king maker and leans pretty far to the left.

Now, along comes Bloc Quebecois Leader Gilles Duceppe who is making the same noise. But his mouth is open for a different reason. Most of both the combat work and "peacemaking" has been done by Edmonton's Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry and Ontario's Royal Canadian Regiment. The Princess Pat's are looking at spending another Christmas away from home. Why you ask? Let's ask Warrant Officer Daniel Parenteau. Parenteau, whose job it is to liaise with the Afghan people, also reflected on the mission the Canadian government has sent him on. "I'm proud of what I do," he said. "We don't want to die. But we want to change this country -- to give hope." Isn't that what it's all about? Whether in Afghanistan or Iraq, people need and want hope. They want freedom. Witness those who voted in the Iraqi, Irani and Afghan elections. At great peril to themselves, they voted to rid themselves of dictatorship. The terrorists don't seem to get it. Hezbollah is now at war with Hamas. Maybe it is time to quit Iraq and let these jerks blow themselves to bits.

the WAR on TERROR

Freedom rather than tyranny. Some people still don't get it.

Now Youranter.. back to the subject at hand. Has the U.S. or has not the U.S. screwed Canada on Softwood lumber, Salmon and Alberta Beef? Also, Do Canadians by majority tend to think Americans are arrogant or no? Simple questions that have nothing to do with resorting to personal attacks. What's your answer?

Way to stay away from the subject matter. Just FYI.. launching personal attacks doesn't mean you win the debate on the subject matter at hand. It just makes you petty.

Harry does have a way of torking off anyone who actually thinks, Fellow CP. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed!! He's all depressed because he can't hold a candle to Youranter and he knows it.

Wow, Harry the Hobo kind of reminds us all of of another confused man doesn't he? Good grief man, give it up already! This guy thinks he is actually intelligent that is what's funny- unfortunately he is taking little insignificant issues and trying to make them into something grand--- he'd have more luck pretending to be a woman, Canadian, or rational thinking human being.

And, by the way, Youranter, you surely will back me up on the fact that America has unabashedly screwed Canada on Softwood lumber, Sockeye, and Alberta Beef, to name a few things. Furthermore, surely you will also admit that the majority of Canadians do indeed consider Americans to be arrogant S.O.Bs. Am I wrong on those things? If so, speak up.

and yes... I know I typoed alot in that commentary...ot instead of to, Two instead of too, etc. I'll save you the trouble of chastising me for it.

I havenlt insulted Canada OR the U.S. I have merely stated the fact that America takes advantage of Canada and that most Canadians consider Americans to be arrogant S.O.B's. Personally I think both countries have their good points and their bad points, but what I have challenged here is the notion that Canada should go to war alongside of the U.S. just because the U.S. happened ot ask us to do so, or just because we happen to be part of the same club... NATO. I didn't suggest that either the U.S. or Canada should go F themselves. What I said, was that eventually if one friend takes advantage of another friend for two long, the friend who has been wronged consistently will tell the errant friend to F OFF. It's not insulting to tell the true state of U.S./ Canada relations and the fact is that the U.S. screws Canada every chance it gets, and it's not right.

Something as relevant as your insults to both Canada and America? Or maybe your relevant remarks about "the fine art of self copulation?" Honestly, Harry....

Posted on 12/19/2006 at 11:12:00 AM

You ranter. I think that the U.S. takes far more advantage of Canada than the other way around. The U.S. does not protect Canada. Canada doesn't have any enemies... and if they did, the Commonwealth protects Canada. Don't buy the American line of "we protect you". It's simply.... uncanadian. Don... What does what you said have to do with the subject at hand? Is it just me, or are you just searching for a fight? Don't be a moron. Either say something relevant to the conversation, or shut up.

Know something, Youranter? I think Harry has some sort of a personal problem. He keeps suggesting that others should go play with themselves. Do you think his Imam knows? If so, the Imam must be very proud of someone who treats the US and Canada with such disrespect.

Posted on 12/19/2006 at 9:12:00 AM

You're right Harry, we do take advantage of the US. They know they protect us and I can't blame them for being bitter about it. Maybe if the Liberals had supported our military instead of trying to emasculate it things would be different. But they're not and we have to live with it. Like I said before, our role in Afghanistan is watching our neighbours back. Anyway, what does this have to do with the article? I was trying to get across the point that the French, whether here in Quebec or over in France, seem to fit the role of cowards.

Don, Allies or not, one friend is taking advantage of the other friend more often than not. Ever been to Canada Don? I have lived in Canada. Most Canadians don't really care all that much for Americans, because we are arrogant rude assholes. I submit that a friend who constantly takes advantage of the friendship, in the end, is no friend at all and eventually Canada will tell America to go learn the finer art of self copulation.

Harry, if I can choose who I want as a neighbour, it would be America hands down rather than Iraq. The Liberals decimated our armed forces and America, by being next door, protected us. I make no bones about that. It is pay back time and that's what we are trying to do. It doesn't mean we can't have differences over such things as softwood lumber or salmon. Maybe the US and Canada are a bit dysfunctional at times. So be it. But when push comes to shove, we both push the same way.

Posted on 12/18/2006 at 7:12:00 PM

Well, Harry... obviously your thinking mechanism doesn't work very well. The US and Canada are allies and all your crap can't change that.

Posted on 12/18/2006 at 6:12:00 PM

Don Lee... My ignorance is showing because I asked a question? Interesting. Your rudeness is showing. Youranter. If there is no upside for Canada, other than being a good neighbor, then I say Canada is smart ot stay out too. The last time I checked, Americans F**K the Canadians over at every opportunity..Softwood Lumber, Sockeye Salmon, Alberta Beef, etc, not to mention the disrespect that most Americans show to the sovereigty of Canada, saying such stupid things as that America protects Canada, despite the fact that Canada needs no protection, and if it did, the Commonwealth of Nations would be enough to fend off any intruder,INCLUDING the U.S.A. No... America has been a lousy lousy friend to Canada. It seems to me that sacrificing Canadian citizens to a largely American war borders on acting like America's bitch.
