Over the years I have gotten a bit tired of the same Christmas songs played over and over again, or re-done in various incarnations by a parade of artists. A while ago I became enamoured of Gothic music, since it was a little different and a bit edgy. Naturally, the melancholy-but-beautiful sound of Goth music makes for some fabulous holiday music! If you think winter is a time of reflection, and want your holiday a little less peppy and a little more ethereal, try out this list. I shall not be describing each song; rather, I'll provide this overall description of what to expect:

Orchestral melodies with angelic voices.
A little rough edge and melancholia.
A Renaissance Faire feel.
Violins. Strings.
Tribalesque, Middle-Eastern style music.
Celtic overtones.
Meditative music that will make you feel soulful and at peace.

Winter Wonderland, Cocteau Twins
Labryinth of Dreams, Blue Stone
It's in Every One of Us, Danya Manning
A Winter Wassail, Faith & the Muse
Bella Donna, Bond
Wisdom, Delerium
Lane Navachi, Lunascape
Frosty the Snowman, Cocteau Twins
Her Song, Hungry Lucy
Natures Kingdom, Delerium
Let it Snow!, Celtic Woman
Eurydice, Sleepthief
Brazil, Cranes
Spring Arrives, Azam Ali
The Lotus Eaters, Dead Can Dance
Lazy Days, Enya
Vedes Amigo, Qntal
Seasons Change, Corrine Bailey Rae
Winter Wonderland, Tara McLean
Caribbean Blue, Enya
Kismet, Bond

Did You Know?
Pretty, ethereal music you've never heard before.
