You Can Boot Your Windows Much Faster with These Tips

Windows seems to be slower because of its old age especially when you first turn it on. Recently, we have clocked a brand new computer less than 2 minutes of pressing the "on" Switch it ultimately concluded that it was OK to be used.

Windows will never start up very fast, since it has a lot of things to do. Consider only the things on which Windows Vista must have every time it is started:

Bios - the truly prehistoric part that has been around even before computers

Master Boot Record - saves the stuff that usually occurs when a PC boots up

Boot Sector - special area of the hard drive reserved for booting up Windows

Windows Boot Manager - a program that reads the main Windows booting file

Read from Boot Configuration Data - a set of instructions on what to do when booting up Windows

Search for hibernation file - if Windows does not shut down properly and just went to hibernate mode

Start winload.exe - program that loads Windows

Start the OS itself

Start Session Manager Subsystem

Prepares to ask you to log in to Windows

Start all important services and asks you to log in

Some Windows tips need specialist software if you need to be in the process alive. Others can be done with Windows because it's easier than specialized tools, such as a registry cleaner, or Windows error checker, which is much more than just a record of about the same price as a registry cleaner.

Before doing anything that is on this list, make sure you can return to where you are as of the moment if in case something goes wrong.

Type in "System Restore Point" into Windows Help and then follow the instructions.

Let's begin with the easy stuff:

Do you really have use for all the fonts? If not, delete the fonts that you don't use. Get a free font manager for this task.

Things will get a bit tricky.

When your computer boots, other programs start up with it.
