Definition of Education ; noun; The activities of educating or instructing or teaching; activities that impart knowledge or skill. Example; "She received no education"

I may not know a lot of things but I do know my lack of education is creeping up with me. And it is embarrassing,

I had no choice, but for specific reasons had to quit school at 14, the age we are just getting into high school.

Given my dream is to write, and I do all the time since a very young age, it makes for a challenging disability at best.

I worked since I was 14 and never took one look back. Not shocking enough developed a very successful career in the communication Industry.

And now I write. I love it but until now it has just been books and books held private in my room,

I never did go back and read one piece I wrote. And definitely never let someone read anything.

Until last Summer, slowly on the internet. It gave me confidence slowly that I surely never had.

I write everyday but despite my attempts, the evidence is there after I proof the 3rd time It's full of grammar and spelling mistakes. I only know this because people have been quite honest and kind to point them out.

So what is my point? I am not complaining or whining, rather confessing. All the errors you find in my work, I missed. despite dictionaries. when I am learning and moving ahead, No matter what. I don't get insulted when my errors are flagged, actually it helps but I must say also humiliating.

The learning will come and does when I write, And this is one battle I already Fight
But this is maybe embarrassing, and judgmental but I will get it right.

I love your writing, Kim. The words you choose get right to the point. I agree with others who say that you learn by doing. As long as we are open to learning new things we will make progress. You are very courageous. Keep writing. You touch our hearts with what you have to say.

Kim a lot of writers have things in their life they have to yet to finish. For me it is college, for you it was not having went into high school for another something else. If you live a perfect life and finish everything and have no regrets there isn't much to write about anyway. If you have made an honest living writing and can actually live from what is earned through your writing it is more you could ever ask for. Being able to express one's self through writing is one thing, to be able to find the strength to do so in a positive way is truly a gift. It is inspiring to know someone who had defeated the odds and is doing what they have always loved.

Kimberly-I tell my students this statement and I will tell you....through our mistakes we learn, it is when we make mistakes, our learning is most meaningful. Personally, when I think of all the times and situations I remembered and learned the most was when I had made a mistake. Mistakes are a change agent. Lucky for you and I that we make mistakes, keep making mistakes and you will grown even more as a learner. You are my hero Kimberly.

You have a gift from God - that gift is to be able to express yourself with words and show your emotions so that others can benefit from your experience(s). Do not let anyone tell you otherwise! ((( cyber hugs )))

I am in my sixties and I know that is it o.k to make mistakes ..they are what life is all about ... but not to express yourself and use your talents that is what is a mistake.. lol xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Your writing is marvelous whether or not it has the occasional error. Writing as honest as yours is takes great courage, you have a real gift. Just keep writing, you'll learn as you go.

I have a similar problem... it's compounded with dyslexia, I invert letters, numbers, parts of sentences, clauses, paragraphs and don't or can't see that I have done that. I almost always have to edit my work a dozen or more times and even then I don't catch all of the mistakes, most of my life I just avoided writing.. I am good at organizing my thoughts and can present myself well in spoken language but I have a lot to say that really needs said so I have been struggling to get it all into written language for the 14 years now that I have been participating in internet and bulletin board based discussions. I have found that the shorter the piece of writing the fewer mistakes I make and the easier it is to make my point.

you're a writer!! don't dwell on the past, focus on the future...you know that :)

And yet, in spite of and because of it all, your basic, raw and very powerful talent shines through in every piece you present! That is why so many people read and enjoy your work! Well done! :)

I agree with Angela no one is perfect and we have to learn to live with the life we are given. Courage and struggle seem to be what some are dealt and some who have that fantastic silver spoon just float along. I am proud to know someone with courage though and think you are the greatest and very talented.

Courage: mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty

No one is perfect, but you write from the heart and your soul is bared for all to see. Keep writing, Kimberly, because it matters, and because you are wonderful at expressing yourself. And as a wise woman once told me, don't let the bastards get you down!! xoxo
