Today it was with great pleasure that I noticed that Sara Roberts-Witt was at church.

She and Kathy Dobbs were in the middle of a conversation when I noticed them.

Normally I plan articles; research the article subject matter; if it is about something that can be seen I go to where the article subject is and photograph the subject; then I take the photographs and any facts I am able to discern and write the article. I try to find one or more pictures among those I have taken that best portrays the subject's relation to the article.

When I ran into Sarah and Kathy they specifically asked if I was going to publish the picture.

Just a single picture sort of turns my rather stilted approach to writing articles on its head.

So taking it from a picture first approach this is the best I can do.

This morning there were two people standing in the back of the YMCA, the place where the North Raleigh United Church holds its regular meetings! They were so far back that they were not even in the area where the meetings are held. No, they were on the other side of the glass wall from the gym that becomes a sanctuary every Sunday.

They weren't hiding there because of the great controversy that has swelled around the North Raleigh United Church through the years. They were back there because Sarah's husband and children were back there. The robes for children used in the services during the Christmas season were of great interest to the kids.

I suspect that from Sarah's look, she was enjoying the playfulness of the children as they tried out various outfits.

Kathy was back there to visit with Sarah, who in her fight with Spastic Paraplegia has missed a little church lately.

Kathy is one of those really nice people that want to make sure that everyone in our community of faith gets the support they need.

Kathy has offered to bring my wife some homemade Lentil soup as she recovers from significant surgery to a cancer. It turns out that lentil soup is among my wife's favorites. This is just the kind of person Kathy is.
