I Am Not Brave Part II

There is an old bit of Coffee Mug wisdom that hints at my feelings towards the readers and authors from Associated Content. "Folks may forget what I have said or written, Folks may forget what I have done, Folks will never forget how I have made them feel." Y'all have made me feel
special! The support from the Associated Content "Family" has been terrific. I know the prayers of this powerful group of friends are the main ingredient in God's miracles I receive.

We had a difficult week but the miracles of God's blessings continue to shower upon us. Wednesday morning Bonnie did her daily foot inspection and found an open sore between and under my toes that was bright red. It had that all too familiar odor (it smelled like the Gangrene from 2006, thank God I was wrong) . We went to Dr Clark anticipating the worse. I had a emotional day and a half. The memories of 2006 were very intense.

Dr Clark found a ...itis some kinda fungal virus that was "not infected but could get that way easily" We began the recommended treatment. Basically it is an application of an Astringent solution every hour for three hours then dry the foot with a hair dryer. Each morning we apply an anti fungal cream. This morning we have pink and almost no open areas. We return to Dr Clark on Thursday for a recheck but I feel there is no longer an issue.

To add a little comedy to this situation. Friday morning I awoke with my usual full bladder and I had a fire burning between my toes (unusual when you have neuropathy as bad as mine). I made my way to the bathroom for relief and began to fully awaken, when I realized it was a phantom fire in my right foot. I have been over two years since my amputation and I honestly believe this is the first phantom pain I have experienced. Ya gotta chuckle...

Thanks for the update! We'll continue to pray for you, though, one can never have too much of that, I believe. :-)

I'm so glad you received good news! What a relief! I read part one and I totally agree that we can't always ask God just for what we want - He is not a genie in a bottle! BUT, when He does give us what we want, what a wonderful feeling! Oh, and I also think you can't just describe yourself as a one-legged fat man, you are much more than that!
