I became a mother when I was closer to 37 years old, and I am not sorry that I waited. There are so many things to do in life! I decided that college life was not for me, so when I was in my twenties, I went out to the clubs and had a great time. I could come and go as I pleased and never had to wor
ry about taking care of anybody but myself. The people I had known in high school had become pregnant as early as fifteen. That was not for me! I did not want to have anything to do with babies at that age! I was too busy hanging out with my friends, talking on the phone, and dreaming about boys. I used to imagine myself with a baby at such a young age, and was glad that I was not in the shoes of the girls who had decided to become pregnant at that time. I was having the time of my life!

When I got married to my first husband, I was 30. Due to some medical problems, he could not give me any children. I was a little bit disappointed at first, but then I got over it quickly. What we did do was travel alot. I lived in Florida at the time, and we went all over the place. We traveled to North Carolina, Georgia, Las Vegas, Seattle, San Francisco, and even took a 17 day trip to Europe. In Europe we toured Rome, Florence, Pisa, Venice, Lucerne, Switzerland, Paris,France, and London, England. I could not imagine doing a big tour like that having children in tow. Any time we wanted to go somewhere, we could just pack up a suitcase, and take off. We even got to go to Europe a second time, but this time we went on our own without a tour guide. We didn't have to worry about dragging any kids along. Several years later for personal reasons, I got divorced.
